How to Read These Release Notes

Each update includes a brief description of what changed and what it means for your practice. The column Action Required tells you whether anything is needed from your team. In most cases, no action is needed.

Updates are grouped by area of the platform.

EMMA — Conversation Quality

Smarter follow-up questions for GP submissions Released: 30 April 2026

When a patient gives a brief or vague answer to a key clinical question, EMMA now asks one targeted follow-up to capture the missing detail before moving on. This ensures your team receives richer context in submissions and reduces the need to call patients back before triaging. Maximum one follow-up per topic. If the patient declines to elaborate, EMMA accepts the answer and moves on.

Action required: None. Patients may occasionally be asked one additional question during medical calls.

Clearer read-backs, improved demographics collection and routing fixes Released: 1 May 2026

Phone numbers, postcodes, and names are now read back at a clearer, more measured pace so patients can confirm their details easily. Demographic collection prompts are more direct, reducing unnecessary clarification loops. Routing and transfer behaviour is more reliably matched to the correct surgery and consultation tool.

Action required: None. Patients will notice a more natural and accurate read-back experience.

Improved postcode handling Released: 28 April 2026

When a postcode cannot be validated, EMMA now asks the caller to repeat or spell it out rather than attempting to predict the correct postcode from partial information. This removes the risk of an incorrect postcode being used without the caller realising.

Action required: None. Patients who provide an unrecognised postcode will be asked to repeat it clearly.

Improved handling for silent or unresponsive callers Released: 22 April 2026

When a caller goes silent during a call, EMMA now uses a natural two-step check — "Hello, can you hear me?" followed by "Hello, I can't hear you — are you on mute at all?" — rather than repeating the same prompt. Mobile callers who remain unresponsive receive a SOFIA SMS link so their request can still reach the surgery without needing to call back. Landline callers receive clear next-step signposting. All disconnect messages include 999/111 signposting for callers with urgent needs.

Action required: None.

EMMA — Clinical Safety

Improved emergency symptom detection in SOFIA Released: 28 April 2026

SOFIA now reliably detects emergency symptoms expressed in natural, varied language — including spelling variations and synonyms — and directs patients to 999 or 111 where needed. A previous false positive has also been corrected: rectal bleeding will no longer trigger an emergency response and will instead route through standard triage, in line with clinical guidance.

Action required: None.

EMMA — Consultation Tool Integrations

AskMyGP integration for Hounslow Surgery and Balaam Street Surgery Released: 11 May 2026

EMMA and SOFIA now support AskMyGP as the primary request submission channel for Hounslow Surgery and Balaam Street Surgery. EMMA guides callers to the practice's AskMyGP link, sends the link via SMS where needed, and falls back to capturing the request on the call when the patient insists. SOFIA handles request capture in call drop scenarios. This integration supports practices moving to AskMyGP as their single submission channel.

Action required: Applies to Hounslow Surgery and Balaam Street Surgery only. No action required for other practices.

Fix: Accurx callers no longer receiving eConsult signposting message Released: 27 April 2026

An issue was resolved where patients at Accurx-configured surgeries were occasionally hearing a message intended only for eConsult practices. The eConsult signposting message and SMS verification flow are now strictly limited to eConsult surgeries only.

Action required: None. Accurx callers will now always receive the correct messaging.

Redirected enquiries no longer appearing in admin inbox Released: 1 May 2026

An issue was resolved where enquiries that had already been redirected were incorrectly appearing in the practice admin inbox, creating unnecessary noise. Redirected enquiries are now correctly filtered out before reaching the inbox.

Action required: None. Admin teams will only see enquiries that require their attention.

SOFIA

Configurable SOFIA invite message per surgery Released: 30 April 2026

The SOFIA invite message sent to patients can now be customised per surgery and managed directly through the CMS Settings page. Previously, the message was the same for all practices and required an engineering request to change.

Action required: None by default. If you would like to customise your SOFIA invite message, go to Settings in the dashboard or contact support@quantumloopai.com.

Dashboard and Platform

Improved enquiry capacity handling reliability Released: 27 April 2026

Capacity check values are now read dynamically rather than from fixed settings, ensuring enquiry capacity handling continues to function correctly even when external systems are updated. This reduces the risk of capacity behaviour becoming out of sync following changes to consultation tools.

Action required: None.

Step-by-Step Instructions

No steps are required. All updates in this release are applied automatically. If you want to customise your SOFIA invite message following the April update, navigate to Settings in the dashboard or contact support@quantumloopai.com.
