The NHS needs better.
We're building it.

QuantumLoopAI is the team behind EMMA, the AI receptionist already transforming how millions of NHS patients reach their GP. We're engineers, clinicians, and operators solving one of the most stubborn problems in British healthcare. If you want to build something real, for real people, at a pace that actually matters, keep reading.

The Impact We're Making

Hear directly from the NHS practices using EMMA. This is why we come to work every day.

Principles that guide how we show up for each other and our mission

Patients First

Patient First, Always

Every decision we make starts with one question: does this make it easier for patients to get the care they need? We build for the person who's anxious about their symptoms at 2am, the carer juggling multiple responsibilities, and the patient who struggles with digital forms. Their experience is our measure of success.
Safety

Clinical Safety is Non-Negotiable

We're building technology that sits at the front door of healthcare. That responsibility shapes everything we do. We achieved MHRA medical device registration and DTAC certification not because we had to, but because patient safety demands the highest possible standards. We never cut corners on compliance.
Build With

Build With, Not For

EMMA was developed alongside NHS clinicians, practice managers, and frontline staff. We don't assume we know better than the people doing the job every day. Our best features come from listening, observing, and iterating with the people who understand primary care from the inside.
Simplicity

Simplicity Wins

Healthcare is already complex enough. We obsess over making our technology invisible to patients and intuitive for staff. If a practice needs extensive training to use our product, we've failed. The best technology disappears into the workflow.
Impact

Own Your Impact

We're a small team solving big problems. Everyone here has direct influence on our product, our customers, and our direction. There's no hiding behind layers of management or waiting for permission. If you see something that needs doing, it's probably your job to do it.
Evidence

Evidence Over Opinion

We make decisions based on data, not assumptions. When practices tell us EMMA is saving them 40 hours per week, we measure it. When patients report higher satisfaction, we validate it. We hold ourselves accountable to outcomes that can be demonstrated, not just claimed.
Waiting Room

Remember the Waiting Room

It's easy to get lost in sprints and dashboards and quarterly targets. We deliberately step back and remember that behind every metric is a patient trying to reach their GP, a receptionist under pressure, or a clinician who needs better information. We've seen what EMMA does in real surgeries. That context keeps us grounded when the work gets hard.

How We Hire

We care about what you can do and how you think, not where you went to university or which companies you've worked for. Some of our best team members came from unexpected backgrounds. If you've solved interesting problems, built things that work, or brought fresh thinking to complex challenges, that matters more than a conventional CV.

Initial Conversation

A 15-minute video call with someone from our team. We'll discuss your background, what draws you to QuantumLoopAI, and answer your questions about us. This is as much about you evaluating us as the reverse.

Skills Assessment

For technical roles, this involves a practical exercise relevant to the job. We don't do whiteboard algorithm puzzles. We want to see how you approach real problems.

For non-technical roles, we'll discuss case studies or scenarios that reflect actual challenges you'd face in the role.

Team Conversations

You'll meet two or three team members across different functions. We want to understand how you think and work, and give you a genuine sense of our culture.

Founder Chat

A conversation with one of our founders about your aspirations, our direction, and whether there's mutual fit.

We aim to complete the process within two weeks and will always give you honest feedback, whatever the outcome.

Our Policy on Using AI in Applications

We build AI for healthcare. It would be odd if we didn't think carefully about how AI should be used when you're applying to join us. Here's our guidance on when and how to use AI tools during your application.

Frequently asked questions

Do you offer remote working?

It depends on the role. Our UK-based positions are office-first because we believe that building a startup requires the kind of spontaneous collaboration, problem-solving, and team bonding that happens best in person. We're still working out who we are as a company, and that's easier when we're in the same room bouncing ideas off each other. Some of our overseas roles are remote. Each job listing will specify the working arrangement.

Do I need healthcare or NHS experience?

Not necessarily, but it's certainly valued. We've hired people from fintech, consumer tech, and other sectors who've brought fresh perspectives. We've also hired doctors, nurses, and people with deep primary care and secondary care experience. What matters most is genuine curiosity about healthcare and willingness to learn. If you have clinical or NHS experience, that's a real advantage, but it's not a requirement.

What stage is the company at?

We're past the early startup phase with a proven product, paying customers, and real traction across NHS primary care. We're now scaling, which means you'll have both stability and the opportunity to shape how we grow.

Do you sponsor visas?

We don't typically sponsor visas at this stage. If your circumstances are exceptional, mention it in your application and we can have a conversation, but it's not something we're currently set up to do routinely.

Can I reapply if I'm not selected?

Absolutely. We encourage you to reapply after six months, or sooner if your circumstances or experience change significantly.

What's the team size?

We're a small, focused team. This means you'll have significant responsibility and visibility from day one. You won't get lost in the numbers. Everything you do will count, will be seen, and will be impactful. It's a great place to make your mark.

Do you offer internships or graduate schemes?

We don't currently have internship or graduate programmes.

Why are UK roles office-based?

We're a young company still defining our direction, culture, and ways of working. That process is significantly better when people are together, able to ask quick questions, whiteboard ideas, and build relationships naturally. Remote work has its place, but for building a startup from the ground up, we believe being in person accelerates everything.

Equity

We are at the beginning of something significant. Team members who join early and complete probation are offered equity, because the people building this company should share in what it becomes.
